Emily 'Amanaki Pawlowski's Baptism

Baptism Date - 1/10/99

A "SPECIAL" day with a "SPECIAL" gal. The Reverend Martin B. Lavengood, the Pastor at St. Alban's holds Emily after her baptism. Mom and Dad look proudly on.

The Godparents, Kevin and Lisa Pawlowski, couldn't make it in for the ceremony because of the weather. The Fishers stood in for them...and loved every minute of it.

Have you ever seen two prouder grandparents than the Fishers on Emily's BIG day.

In a picture showing Em in "the dress" grandmom & granddad Pawlowski seem like an afterthought.

An aside on "the dress". The dress was sewn by Em's late (and) Great Aunt Janie, who it happens had Em's Baptismal Day, 10 January, as her birthday. Note also that this day is the birthday of Em's Grandmom Fisher as well. Wow what a day! The dress was a replacement for the original "the dress" sewn by Em's Great Great Grandmom, Cassie Pawlowski, in the 1920s. It had been used for baptisms in the Pawlowski family since, including Em's dad, Craig. Age and fragility finally caused it's retirement and replacement. The original is in a framed shadow box on the Pawlowski's living room mantel.

After the services at St. Alban's, all braved the DEEP snow and lousy snow plowing job at the Pawlowski's homestead for a luncheon and Emily adoration party. The good news is most of the guest didn't get stuck.

Aunt Lisa holding and Aunt Laurie looking on in rapt adoration of that sweety Em. Great Aunt Beth tries to give it that casual "I am into something else pose", but she got caught on the next picture. On this special day NO ONE was immune to Em's charms. Are they ever?
Hard to hide how you REALLY feel when faced with a sweety like Emily. Here is her Great Aunt Beth taking her turn with the sweety.
Last but far from least, here Uncle Scott and Aunt Peggy take their turn holding the Em. Note the "almost" smile on the Em's face. Must be that experienced mother's touch.
