Christmas/New Years 2001
December 25th and January 1st
"Our First in Arizona!"
| Add
the challenge of finding how to "hang all in a row"
25 stockings with no mantle and you have the start of our problems.
The "tree of the ages" didn't make the trip so a new
tree was also in order. Lots of changes. |
|
|
The
room divider rafter for the kitchen had to serve for the stockings
and did...well. They all made it. Mom shows off her kitchen in
the new house. Amazingly I actually think we ended up with more
counter space if that seems possible. |
| The
tree was a Sear's special and a biggie. It takes mom's patience
to put it together, but gives plenty of room for our collection
of decorations. |
|
 |
Gifts
and "the spirit" were shared at all homes. Here Carmy
and Jim Elliott check things out with Lori over at Chris and Jodi's.
Notice how Henry had to find a lap to join in the fun. |
| Finally
here is that mom doll with the old man, checking out the goodies
and showing off the custom designed sweatshirts by Cat and Kyle.
Christmas is about family and we missed Scott, Peg and their family;
Craig, Steph and Emily; and Kevin, Lisa, Cat and the Kyle guy.
Not the same without them. |

New
Years Eve brings the partiers out of the woodwork. Here is the
Arizona contingent ready to blast off before the big fondue dinner. |
| Mom
did her usual and traditional beef fondue, but this year Jodi
added a blended cheese fondue appetizer spread that was spectacular.
Never outdone Lora came up with a chocolate fondue spread for
desert that rated as spectacular as well. Hard not to eat your
way into a coma. What a way to welcome in the New Year. |
|
| 2001
was a special year for us in so many ways. We miss our family
in Indiana and Illinois, but welcome the opportunity to spend
the holidays with the Arizona folks that were SO FAR away for
so long. |
